I’m Celebrating My Failures Today!

Today, I’m celebrating my failures.

Yes, you read right.  I’m actually celebrating the things that didn’t go right this week.

So often we get disappointed and upset because things don’t go our way. It is during those times that we are tempted to throw in the towel and give up.

But as I look back over this past week, I have to thank God for what didn’t happen as I wanted it to…

  • a new group coaching program I was planning to start this month had to be pushed back until August throwing off my entire program schedule
  • two potential client leads didn’t work out
  • I accidentally scheduled a meeting at 7 pm for a project I really wasn’t sure I even wanted to work on.

Whoo-hoo! I’m happy that those things happened the way they did.  Why? Because of those things going wrong, here’s what went right:

  • It just so happened that the meeting I didn’t want to attend  opened up the opportunity to serve as the business coach on a new business incubator project.
  • Moving that coaching program  to August allowed me to use the month of July as GOAL GETTERS month and help more people to start focusing on achieving their goals.

And, what about those two clients that decided not to coach with me?  Well, that could be God’s blessing for you!  I now have two private coaching spaces available for dynamic Christian women who are ready to take their business and personal lives to the next level.

What seems to be going wrong in your life?  What things didn’t happen the way you wanted them to?  Instead of throwing a temper tantrum, turn that pity party into a celebration.  There are great things in store for you.  Remember – “…God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Celebrate with me. Share your failure turned success stories in the comment section below.

  1. I know this is about celebrating failure but I first want to get my party on celebrating what I am loving and happy about first! I am just so happy to see a beauty, Christian woman not afraid to talk about God and quote scripture and is able to not have to separate herself into different parts. I celebrate you being you Benecia and I think that’s wonderful.

I love how neat, clean and classy your site looks and the smart marketing technique you used by asking people to call for a consultation.

Now to the failure part. I failed to do my exercises this morning. But I am happy I did because right after posting this i will do them and had I done them earlier I would be on a different schedule and would not have had time to come to your site.

So for me this truly was a blessing. Lastly I was just explaining to my teenage daughter and her friend about not being afraid to make a mistake or failure. They were like “yeah mom alright what ever you say”. But I was not daunted by them not taking it in because I know I planted a seed that I will keep watering by my actions and my mouth.

  2. Hello Benecia,

There have been a lot of cases for me. when something does hot happen but that failed event turned something else into grand success.

I think I got to make a diary too sometimes, it acts as an eye opener and also as a great stress buster.

    Good job here.

  3. These were not really failures- but they were not making the initial goals, either. This is more a demonstration of serendipity, making use of items that were unexpected. ( A failure would have been the lack of interest in your seminar, so that whenever you elected to reschedule it, no attendees planned to participate.)

I love the concept of serendipity – and how you handled YOUR non-events.

  4. Lovely inspirational blog – I’m thrilled to hear you see the positives in what’s happened and celebrate the failures. As a Psychologist, I know all the benefits of doing this. And how many brilliant benefits come with an optimistic outlook.

But sometimes it can be harder said than done. I’ll be back to be re-inspired!

    Thank you!

  5. Celebrating your failures – simply brilliant. always makes me think of the country song by Garth Brooks called Unanswered Prayers. God has is reasons and may they be huge blessings to you!
